1. What is this movie personally telling or teaching you? What is the film’s ending trying to personally convey to you?
Symbolism: “Pan's Labyrinth”  the subject explored  is “Good vs. Evil vs. Innocence.” The sobering message of the film the conclusion drawn  is that in a war torn between good and evil, there is not place for innocence.

2. Watches and time: What is the symbolism and backstory to Captain Vidal’s watch? Why is it an important plot device?
The watch (Symbol) In this moment, the watch represents the fact that Vidal is exacting and meticulous in his sense of time and order. It is an extension of his fascist political ideals, his fanatical insistence that everything conform to his predetermined plan.
